They are cousins, NBA All-Stars and former teammates, but in the playoffs only one of them is playing well. Here is your response on which players you would rather have in the future, Tracy McGrady or Vince Carter:
McGrady possess all elements for greatness
McGrady has established himself as a more valuable player at this point. Carter seems like he disappears when he's not scoring. McGrady rebounds well and also is an excellent defender. McGrady also takes good shots, while Carter often relies completely on his athletic advantage to try to create shots such as floating, pumping layups and long fadeaways. He also seems to get flustered and disappointed when he doesn't beat people with his quickness and jumping ability.

Vince is off a beat
McGrady is much better than Vince Carter. McGrady has that sweet little step back fadeaway that he knocks down all the time. Vince, on the other hand, is struggling against the Knicks and he will continue to struggle because he just can't knock down the open shot.

No question, T-Mac on my team
I would much rather have T-Mac than Vince. While Vince has a lot of talent, T-Mac is a superior defender and has great handles for a player his size. Vince isn't the Vince we were all amazed by in his first two seasons anymore. He isn't as aggressive and settles for fadeaways too much. McGrady is the total package, he can defend, he can shoot, drive, hit the three. Most importantly, T-Mac has shown he can shine during the playoffs.

McGrady is the real deal
I think the McGrady is the better player of the two. He is taller, more athletic, can play better defense, and can get up equally as high as Carter, but Carter may have a better shot. But I also consider the fact that the NY Knicks are a far better defensive team than the Bucks. But then you have to think McGrady is getting double and triple teamed like Carter, but is dropping 42 on them, instead of Carter's 20 with very poor shooting. I don't know, but in my mind if I had a choice of the two, without hesitation I would take T-Mac.

T-Mac first pick on my team
After watching them both throughout the course of the year
and the playoffs...I adamantly believe McGrady is a better player.
He can do so much more offensively, and he is a much
more sound defender than Vince. They are both tremendous
athletes, but T-Mac has the entire package and is
the premiere "cousin."

McGrady and Carter no comparison
I don't see how anyone can say that Carter is better than McGrady. McGrady is a great defensive player who can block shots and make steals. He also can hold any small forward or two guard well below their average. McGrady is also a better passer than Carter. They are near equal in both scoring ability and rebounding. It bothers me that the average basketball fan does not relieve that McGrady is better than Carter.

T-Mac's statistics tell all
T-Mac the future of the NBA. In his first season away from his Toronto and VC, he averaged 26.8 points, 7.5 boards, about 5 assists. Vince barely outscored him with 27.6 points, 5.5 boards, and about 4 assists. McGrady gots the upper hand on him. When it comes to defense, well, Carter can't even define defense. And look at the playoffs right now. Sure both teams are down a game, but just look at the numbers of the two and T-Mac should easily be your choice for the future.

Without Vince, no playoffs for Raptors
They are both great players, but Vince has something that Tracy doesn't, maturity. McGrady sat at the very end of the bench in Toronto for how long? Yes he did get a sizeable contract in Orlando, good for him and his team in the playoffs, but how long will his heroics continue? Vince continues to shine on a team that wouldn't be in the playoffs if not for him, Orlando still has a guy named Grant, remember him? I'd take Vince on my team any day!!

Carter's shots are on target
Vince Carter. You ask why? Tracy McGrady has had one good year. Vince is more consistent and until Tracy or anyone else jumps over someone 7'2, I'll take Vince.

Carter puts on a show
Carter is a much better player than McGrady. While McGrady may score a little better, Carter is a better team player. Plus Carter gets the crowd involved with his spectacular dunks, and is more fun to watch.

Vince dominates the offense
Vince is still the better offensive player then McGrady. The only reason why McGrady is doing so much better in this post season is because the Bucks don't play nearly as good defense compared to the Knicks. I would like to see how McGrady does against the great defense of New York.

Not even worth it
Yeah right, don't even compare the two to each other. Vince is so much better that it's crazy that anyone would want to waste their time just comparing these two. Tracy is nothing compared to his cousin and we all know that. Vince may be the best player in the NBA and Tracy is not even in the top 15 players.

Watch Vince's show
I think that both athletes are superb athletes. Vince is by far much more exciting to watch but Tracy is more consistent and in my eyes and a better defender. But if I had the choice of attending a Raptors or Magic game, clearly I would choose watching Vince and the Raptors.

Carter thrives well under pressure
Got to go with Vinsanity. McGrady is given carte blanche to do whatever he wants, and there is absolutely no pressure on him to succeed. Whereas Carter has mega pressure to win, and veteran teammates that expect to be part of the offense. True, Carter has shot much worse, but the Knicks are the best defensive team in the league, and the Bucks are the worst. Plus, Carter has taken 22 shots a game, McGrady has taken 30. Carter is the man.
