BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (Ticker) -- Ryan White kicked a school-record five field goals and Damien Dodson had 97 receiving yards and a touchdown as Memphis routed UAB, 38-14, in a Conference USA battle.

White made field goals of 47, 42, 31, 45 and 46 yards for the Tigers (2-4, 1-0 C-USA), who are in second place in the conference, one-half game behind Southern Mississippi in what has become a free-for-all since six of the nine teams are within one game of each other.

White, who matched the school record of four field goals last year against Cincinnati, missed a sixth attempt in the fourth quarter.

Memphis scored the first 18 points of the game as White drilled three field goals, the defense recorded a safety and Dobson caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from Neil Suber 52 seconds into the second quarter.

The Blazers (2-3, 1-1) finally got on the board with 4:15 to go in the first half on a one-yard plunge by Cory Conley, but White's fourth field goal of the half, a 45-yarder, made it 21-7 with 2:02 to go in the second quarter.

After White's fifth field goal, Gerard Arnold made it 31-7 with a nine-yard scamper midway through the third quarter.

Suber completed 15-of-36 passes for 162 yards and was intercepted once. The Tigers limited UAB to 202 yards of total offense and improved to 2-0 in the all-time series. They recorded a 28-7 victory in the 1997 season.

Daniel Dixon completed 12-of-28 passes for only 115 yards and was intercepted twice. The Blazers committed three turnovers and converted just 4-of-17 plays on third down.
