BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) _ Jim Willis kicked a 24-yard field goal in the second overtime to lift Elon College to a 34-31 win over Samford Saturday. Elon (6-1) trailed 24-10 heading into the fourth quarter, but Steven Ferguson scored on a 3-yard run and Brian Broadie caught a 44-yard touchdown pass from Derrick Moore. It was Moore's only completion in six attempts. The Bulldogs (3-3) answered Ferguson's 2-yard score in the first overtime with a 7-yarder by Jerome Russell. But Samford couldn't answer Willis's kick in the second overtime. Ferguson rushed 25 times for 112 yards. Chris Bryan added 13 carries for 87 yards and a touchdown as Elon totalled 332 yards on the ground. Samford's Josh Kellett completed 12-of-23 passes for 195 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Kellett also rushed 12 times for 67 yards. Jon Pointer caught six passes for 113 yards, including a 50-yard TD.
