TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) -- Trung Canidate rushed for 202 yards and quarterback Ortege Jenkins capped a long drive with a six-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter as Arizona rallied for its third straight victory, 34-21 over Texas-El Paso.

Canidate, who carried 27 times, recorded the second-highest rushing total of his career and went over the 100-yard mark for the fifth straight game. He has 3,161 yards, moving into third place on the school's all-time list. Canidate needs 340 yards to surpass Ontiwaun Carter as Arizona's all-time leading rusher.

Jenkins was 10-of-17 for 113 yards and a TD for the Wildcats, who have won 10 straight and 22 of the last 24 meetings with UTEP.

Arizona racked up 553 yards of total offense, including 396 on the ground.

Rocky Perez connected with Lee Mays on a 17-yard touchdown pass 6:18 into the game to cap a 94-yard drive that gave the Miners (3-4) a 7-0 lead.

Perez completed 17-of-23 passes for 233 yards. Mays had nine receptions for 127 yards and a pair of scores.

Texas-El Paso extended its lead to 14-0 lead 47 seconds into the second quarter. A 35-yard gain by Clifford Johnston on a fake punt moved the ball to the Arizona 17 and Mays teamed up with Perez again on a 10-yard TD strike.

Canidate got the Wildcats on the board with 11:33 to play in the half, scooting 60 yards for a touchdown. It was Canidate's eighth career touchdown run of at least 60 yards.

Only 25 seconds later, Greg Payne Jr. picked off backup quarterback Jay Stuckey and returned it 30 yards for a score, lifting the Wildcats into a 14-14 tie.

Jenkins found Eli Wnek in the end zone from three yards to give Arizona its first lead, 21-14, with 42 seconds left before halftime.

Perez scored from seven yards on a quarterback draw with 4:59 to play in the third quarter to forge a 21-21 tie, capping an 89-yard drive in 12 plays.

But Jenkins answered with his own quarterback draw from six yards in the opening minute of the fourth quarter to put Arizona back in front, 28-21. The 72-yard drive lasted nearly six minutes.

Arizona sealed the victory with a 75-yard drive over 2:45. Leon Callen's eight-yard run to the left corner of the end zone capped the scoring with 7:38 to play.
