MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) _ Andy Huegli passed for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Valparaiso past Morehead State 31-21 Saturday.

Huegli ran 1 yard for a touchdown and threw a 9-yard TD pass to Patrick Fazio, while Eric Strasser kicked a 34-yard field goal to give the Crusaders (5-1) a 17-0 lead early in the second quarter.

Morehead State (3-3) countered with 15 straight second-quarter points, as quarterback David Dinkins threw TD passes of 3 and 2 yards and Guy Huffman booted a 31-yard field goal. The Eagles missed a point-after kick and failed to convert on a two-point try.

Valparaiso scored once in the third quarter on a 35-yard pass from Huegli to Matt Junia to lead 24-15.

The Crusaders struck again on a 60-yard touchdown run down the right sideline by Marrial Shields early in the fourth quarter.

Morehead State's final score came on a 58-yard touchdown pass from Dinkins to Nicholas Wooldridge.
