COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Tennessee Tech's David Collett broke a 10-10 tie with a 36-yard, third-quarter field goal Saturday and the Golden Eagles went on to stop Western Kentucky 23-10. Tennessee Tech's Grant Swallows connected with Tony Fragale for an 87-yard touchdown pass on the Golden Eagles' first play from scrimmage. It's the longest pass play in Tech history. Western Kentucky (4-3, 3-2 Ohio Valley Conference) rushed for 290 yards against the OVC's top defense. It was the Hilltoppers' 104th consecutive game with at least 100 yards rushing. Western Kentucky is the first team to rush for more than 100 yards against Tennessee Tech (4-1, 3-0 OVC). Tech added to its 13-10 lead in the fourth quarter after Lofton Gerberding recovered a fumbled punt by Western Kentucky's Bobby Sippio at the Hilltoppers' 8-yard line. Swallows and Fragale again combined, this time from 7 yards out, for their second touchdown pass. Collett kicked his third field goal of the game to complete scoring.
