CULLOWHEE, N.C. (AP) _ Travis Wilson ran for 148 yards and threw for 111 yards to lead Wofford over Western Carolina 35-21 on Saturday. Wilson hit Jessie McCoy on a 59-yard scoring pass in the third quarter, then scored on a 41-yard run with 9:48 left in the game to provide Wofford with the final 14-point margin. McCoy added touchdown runs of 6 and 2 yards and finished with 128 yards rushing on 10 carries. His third quarter TD reception gave Wofford (4-2, 3-1 Southern Conference) a 28-7 lead. Western Carolina (1-5, 0-4) responded with touchdown drives of 59 and 85 yards to cut the lead to 28-21 with 13:54 left in the game. Walter Gary capped off the first drive with a 10-yard scoring run, and Darius Hooks added the Catamounts' third touchdown on a 1-yard plunge. Western Carolina, though, was not able to complete the rally, as Wofford drove 76 yards in eight plays and scored its final touchdown to put the game away. Shawn Snyder completed 24 of 41 passes for 285 yards, including a 53-yard scoring strike to Darius Hooks in the first quarter, for Western Carolina.
