BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) _ Marcus Brady threw for two touchdowns Saturday as Cal-State Northridge downed sputtering Montana State 24-21 in Big Sky Conference action. Montana State didn't score until near the end of the third quarter. The late surge ended when Carson Souter's 48-yard field goal attempt to tie was wide with six seconds remaining. Cal-State Northridge (4-2 Big Sky, 5-3 overall) had a shutout going until Kasey Harte scored from the 1-yard line on a keeper with 2:05 remaining in the third quarter. Montana State (1-4, 3-5) replaced quarterback Dusty Broderick in the second period after he was just 3-of-10 for 49 yards. Harte completed 14-of-37 with one touchdown and one interception. Brady, who completed 30-of-47 passes for 340 yards, hit wide receiver Marcus Brady with an 8-yard touchdown strike to cap a 13-play opening drive. Kicker Derek Brown put Northridge up 10-0 with a 37-yard field goal. He also hit on kicks of 29 and 37. Brady's second touchdown pass came with 6:18 left in the third period when he found Terrence Jones from 7 yards out. His run for the two-point conversion put Cal-State Northridge up 24-0. After Harte's keeper and a failed two-point conversion attempt, Erick Kinnaman capped an 8-play drive with a two-yard plunge to open the fourth quarter and make it 24-13. Montana State scored again when Harte hit Jake Boyer from the 2-yard line and found Craig Galle open for the two-point conversion. Duncan McLean recovered Montana State's ensuing onside kick at the Cal-State Northridge 48 and Harte hit Pat Carahasen at the 31 with 11 seconds left, setting up Souter's failed field goal try.
