CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) _ Rashad West threw for two touchdowns and ran for another one as Southeast Missouri snapped a 12-game losing streak with a 28-23 victory Saturday over Southwest Missouri. West completed 12 of 16 passes for 173 yards and rushed 20 times for 97 yards, leading his team in both categories. His scoring passes of 21 yards to John Borne and 22 yards to Jerl Huling both came in the third quarter. Southwest Missouri took a 9-0 lead with 12 minutes left in the first half when Jay Rodgers connected with Sean Adams for a 44-yard touchdown pass. But Travis Brawner, who hit a 39-yard field goal to start the scoring, missed the extra point. Rodgers completed 20 of 34 passes for 256 yards but was intercepted three times. Southwest Missouri (3-4) pulled to within five with 8:21 to go in the game after Chance Thurman scored on a 24-yard pass from Rodgers. Thurman's 8 receptions for 100 yards led both teams. But Southeast Missouri (1-7) was able to hang onto the victory with two late interceptions by defensive back Brian Hinton. Kris Tyler had a 1-yard scoring run for Southwest and K.D. Koleosho scored from 2 yards out for Southeast. West's touchdown run was 15 yards.
