ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) _ Vic Penn passed for two touchdowns and rushed for one as Central Florida beat Eastern Michigan 31-6 on Saturday.

Penn was 19-of-26 for 229 yards, with Tyson Hinshaw catching 10 for 115 yards.

Central Florida (3-5) led 24-3 at the half, with Penn completing 13-of-17 for 170 yards. Penn started the scoring with a 46-yard pass to Kenny Clark, and Central Florida then put the game away by scoring on its next three possessions. Javier Beorlegui kicked a 45-yard field goal, Penn ran 8 yards for a TD and Terrance Williams had a 1-yard scoring run to make it 24-0 with 14:05 left in the half.

Toller Starnes' 31-yard field goal with 7:40 left in the half got Eastern Michigan on the scoreboard and Starnes; 37-yard with 9:31 left in the third quarter cut the deficit to 24-6.

Central Florida rebuilt its margin on Penn's 17-yard TD pass to Charles Lee with 13:07 to play.

Central Florida was hurt by four fumbles and six sacks, and Eastern Michigan was handicapped by the loss of quarterback Walter Church late in the half because of a sprained knee. His replacement, Joe Cosgrove, was knocked out of the game on the Eagles' final series of the half with a concussion, forcing Church to start the second half.

Church was 12-of-27 for 143 yards, but was sacked three times and Eastern Michigan managed only 207 yards of offense.
