BOX SCORE
POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) _ Led by quarterback Kevin McCarthy, the Idaho State Bengals rallied in the second half and beat Montana State 29-13 Saturday night. McCarthy fired three 4th quarter touchdowns as ISU came back from a seven point deficit. The win snapped an eight game losing streak, as Idaho State finished the year 3-8 overall, 1-7 in the Big Sky conference. McCarthy hit Chris Brinagh on a 57 yard score with 11:24 left in the game. He found Jeff Main on a three yard score with 6:52 left and capped it, hitting Brinagh again from 26 yards out with 3:21 in the game. McCarthy became only the second Idaho State quarterback to throw for over 3,000 yards in a season. Kicker Pete Garces had three field goals and tied the NCAA record for most 50 yard or longer kicks when he hit a 54 yarder in the third quarter. Garces is now tied with Kirk Roach of Western Carolina with 11 in a career. Montana State (3-7, 1-6) has now lost five straight games and will play its season finale next Saturday in Bozeman against University of Montana.
