MARYVILLE, Mo. (AP) -- David Purnell kicked two fourth-quarter field goals and Scott Courter recovered a teammate's fumble for a touchdown Saturday as Northwest Missouri State beat Indiana, Pa., 20-12 in an NCAA Division II semifinal.

Travis Miles threw for 235 yards and a touchdown and David Jansen carried 32 times for 221 yards for Northwest Missouri State (13-1), the defending national champion.

The Bearcats will meet Carson-Newman in the final next Saturday at Florence, Ala., in a rematch of last year's title game. Carson-Newman beat Northeastern State 42-7 in Saturday's other semifinal.

Indiana (9-4) trailed 7-0 at the half but led 12-7 on Brian Eyerman's 48-yard pass to Greg Dorsey with 12:53 left in the game. Eyerman, a true freshman who started the season third on the Indians' depth chart, was 16-for-33 for 202 yards and threw one interception.

Purnell hit a 33-yard field goal with 6:38 left, cutting the Indians' lead to 12-10. His 35-yarder with 4:21 remaining put the Bearcats up 13-12.

Courter's fumble recovery with 1:09 left sealed the win for Northwest Missouri State, which has now won 17 straight games at home. It came after Jansen broke a 61-yard run but fumbled the ball into the end zone from Indiana's 8-yard line.

Miles, who finished 20-for-30, put the Bearcats up 7-0 with a 4-yard pass to Ryan George with 12 minutes left in the second quarter. That score capped a 13-play drive that started at Northwest Missouri's 2-yard line.

Terrence Wilson's 1-yard run cut the Bearcats' lead to 7-6 with 8:37 left in the third.
