Vick has voters flipping

ESPN.com

Voters apparently flipped over Michael Vick last week while Drew Brees' struggles against Notre Dame sent him sliding down the poll.

Vick, who passed for 120 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 114 yards -- including a flip that the men's gymnastic team could be envious of for a score -- earned five first-place votes and didn't place lower than third on any ballot.

Florida State QB Chris Weinke continues to climb as he earned three first-place votes after his 262-yard, four-TD performance against North Carolina. For the season, Weinke has 1,023 yards, 8 TDs and 0 interceptions for the second-ranked Seminoles.

Nebraska's Eric Crouch, despite a bye week, earned the last first-place vote and ranks third. TCU's LaDainian Tomlinson is fourth after his 243-yard effort against Northwestern and Brees slides from second to fifth after his 13-22, 221-yard effort in the Boilermakers' loss to Notre Dame.

The Heisman Poll features nine ESPN coaches, analysts and writers, and will appear weekly during the season. Panelists are asked to vote for their top five and players are awarded five points for a first-place vote, four for second and so on down the line.
