WIMBLEDON, England -- Natasha Zvereva was fined $1,000
Saturday for making an obscene gesture following her defeat in the
women's doubles with partner Anna Kournikova.
Zvereva raised the middle finger of both hands toward the crowd
as she left the court after the loss to Venus and Serena Williams
in the semifinals.
Tournament referee Alan Mills fined her for unsportsmanlike
conduct. The sum will be deducted from her tournament prize money.
