(Editor's note: Ole Miss offensive lineman Todd Wade will share a weekly diary with ESPN.com throughout the season. For more on Ole Miss sports, visit the official Mississippi site.) Oct. 6, 1999 It's a feeling of accomplishment to be back in the top 25. It's something that we've been working for all season and we want to build on it. Obviously, it feels great to be ranked No. 25, but we have lost a game this season. We need to go out and prove that we are worthy of being ranked this Saturday against Tulane.
Tulane went undefeated last year so we have a lot of respect for them. We'll be ready for them. We're going to prepare real hard this week and be ready to go and give it our best shot on Saturday. I know they'll be ready to play us. Last week, our coaching staff did a great job preparing us for South Carolina. We were knew everything they were going to do. We had a great game plan going in and we executed it well. We had a lot of confidence in ourselves and it was a great environment to play in. We knew we had to put some points on the board in the first quarter to try and put their fans out of the game. Our 93-yard scoring drive showed a lot of character by the offense. We had to have that. Joe Gunn made an excellent run to get out to the 50-yard line and we were able to keep it up from there." |
