The skinny:
This narrow hole should start with a drive that lands between 125 yards and 160 yards from the green to have a level second shot. The green is well-bunkered in front to catch any short or off-line iron and the green slopes from back to front. The wind coming from the lake behind the green can affect the approach.
Andy North says:
Almost a benign starting hole, it's a beautiful hole with big trees everywhere. Most players will hit a 3-wood or 1-iron off the tee. There should be some deep rough on this and every hole, so it's important to hit the fairway to get your day started. It's a pretty interesting green, but you don't want to go long. Surely you can make birdie on this hole, and what a nice way to get started. This is a real fair hole to start a championship.
