The skinny:
A long, narrow par 5 to a small, well-bunkered green. The drive is into a hill and tends to run right. The second shot must clear another hill to leave a short iron to the green. The bunkers protecting the front of the green catch any shot that is short. A slight ridge runs down the center of the green.

A nice par 5 that was rebuilt for the 1990 U.S. Open by Roger Packard, who happens to be my design partner. He took a par 4 and made it into a par 5 by adding 150 yards. There are huge oak trees everywhere. You might be able to get there in two, but it's a three-shot hole for most players.
