Ready for 'Bama

(Editor's note: Ole Miss offensive lineman Todd Wade will share a weekly diary with ESPN.com throughout the season. For more on Ole Miss sports, visit the official Mississippi site.)

Oct. 13, 1999

This week we play Alabama, a team we've lost to for two straight years. But the last two years, we had a chance to win.

THE FULL DOSE OF DIARIES
USC's Travis Claridge:
Shooting for four
Georgia Tech's Joe Hamilton:
Leader of the pack
Miami's André King:
Putting on a good show
UCLA's Danny Farmer:
Bowl-bound Bruins?
Oregon State's Ken Simonton:
All about execution
Oregon's Reuben Droughns:
Resting the ribs
Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops:
Busy bye week
Ole Miss' Todd Wade:
Ready for 'Bama
Wyoming's Jarnagin, Demos:
Bad loss in Laramie

Last year we moved up and down the field but just couldn't get the job done. None of us have forgotten that, though, and we're going to come out and give it everything we have.

Last week (when Ole Miss came from behind to beat Tulane 20-13), I didn't think we executed real well on offense. I don't think we were very focused on what we were doing, but that's about to change this week.

This game against Alabama is the biggest game of my career. It's a big game for this program and everybody needs to be 100 percent focused on what they're doing for us to have a chance to win.

Alabama has a really strong defense with a lot of talented players. However, we have a strong offense so I'm not worried about their defense. I'm more concerned with us getting better this week.
